Hobbiest does not sell your personal information for money. California law (CCPA/CPRA) and several other state laws also give you the right to opt out of certain forms of "sharing" — including sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. This page explains what those rights are and lets you submit a request.
What This Means.
"Selling" personal information has a broader meaning under California law than the everyday sense of the word. It includes giving personal information to a third party in exchange for money or other valuable consideration. "Sharing" specifically covers passing personal information to third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising — that is, ads targeted to you based on activity across other apps and websites.
If we were to engage in those activities, you would have the right to tell us to stop. You also have the right to limit how we use sensitive personal information.
What Hobbiest Does and Doesn't Do.
- We do not sell personal information for money.
- We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by California law.
- We do use service providers — cloud hosting, analytics, customer support, payment processors, anti-fraud tools — that process information on our behalf under contractual confidentiality obligations. This is not a "sale" or "share" under California law.
- If our practices change, we will update this page and our Privacy Policy, and we will honor opt-out requests submitted before that change for all data collected up to that point.
Your Rights.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act), residents of California have the right to:
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information;
- Limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information;
- Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and share;
- Delete personal information we collect from you;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have similar rights. The form below works for all of them.
Global Privacy Control.
Hobbiest recognizes the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal when you visit hobbiest.ai, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for that browser. You do not need to submit the form below if you are using GPC, but you may submit it for additional confirmation or to cover other devices.
Submit a Request.
To submit a request to opt out, limit use of sensitive personal information, or exercise any other privacy right, fill out the form below or email support@hobbiest.ai with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share Request".
Authorized Agents.
You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We will require the agent to provide proof of authorization (typically a signed permission letter) and may verify the request directly with you. Submit agent requests to support@hobbiest.ai with the subject line "Authorized Agent Request."
Verification and Timing.
We will verify your request by matching the information you provide against information we already maintain. We respond to verified requests within 45 days, with one 45-day extension if reasonably necessary (you will be notified in writing if we need the extension). You will not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.
Appeals.
If we deny your request, you may appeal that decision by replying to our denial email or contacting support@hobbiest.ai with the subject line "Privacy Request Appeal." We will respond to appeals within 60 days.
